Beat me to the post ... rep for that.

Mfr page [dpmsinc.com] shows lower as "Forged 7075 T6." So a good, basic AR at under $450. SHOULD BE FP, if gun deals were allowed there.

Not sure how long this will last, $5.99 flat rate shipping, no sales tax if you live outside of Texas, seems like a great deal even if it's an entry level AR:

Hope this works out for someone!

Anyone purchase a refub'ed rifle before? What could have been wrong with them?

I was familiar with the Century Arms rebuild process decades ago; it involved swapping parts from several rifles until you came up with a working example.

If there is concern on the refurb just call and ask them what it means exactly, ususally its taking a non-working gun, and just making it fresh so it will work like new...name brand, good dealer, I doubt they stake their rep on a bad gun...but worth calling and asking the right questions.

If returned for ANY REASON ("Ouchie, loud bang hurt my ears."), it can't be re-sold as new.

Beyond that, any defective parts are so readily swapped out, no problem with "refurb."

I think of it as used, but with the worn out parts replaced.

Called Century. Said he is getting calls left and right. He said "they do not refurbish guns and that they are usually sold as parts guns". He said they "may be police turn-ins" or something along those lines. He basically said they are as-is and they "do not take guns apart and swap parts on them".

Good luck to everyone purchasing but based on that info I am going to hold out....seem too good to be true.

My brother, my brother in law, and myself just got an almost identical model from a local store that was from a private security detail over in iraq and afghanistan. Ours were super clean, as if never even fired. Gun is dead accurate with tight groupings at 25yds (indoor range). Only paid 425 a piece. Can't comment on century arms, but I can say my DPMS is awesome and I love it. Good luck to those that buy

You're buying a crappy rifle (DPMS) from a crappy importer (Century Arms). Buyer beware. Wink
