I got this for around this price 6 months ago on Android. Used it to replace Time Warner's renter. Perfect little cable modem. Does what it needs to perfectly and nothing else.

call comcast, i'm sure its compatible

live and learn.

*preferred* doesn't mean its not compatible. it basically means they prefer you paying them for their modem.

as long cox supports docsis 3.0 its compatible.

This one is not compatible with Comcast. The Cisco DPC3008 is for Comcast.

NOT Compatible With Comcast! If it is not on this list: http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/, then its not compatible.

Have this same modem and it works wonderful. Bought mine used from Amazon in September, except I got mine from CQDeals. Came in a well packaged flip cover box with the modem, AC adapter, and short yellow Ethernet cable.

With my Motorolla Surfboard DOCSIS 2.0 modem I was getting 25Mb down from my 30Mb connection. After upgrading to this one, I consistently got the 30Mb when speedtesting. Now my ISP has covertly doubled their speeds for download and I am getting 65Mb (ISP hasn't come out and said anything yet.)
