This is my first deal I have, I went into Chase last week and the branch manager said this week they are offering the $200 cash back promotion when you spend $500 in the first 3 months.

Sure enough, when I went in today to apply for the Chase Freedom card and asked if they were offering any promotions for the card they confirmed the $200 cash back promotion. It is valid now through June 30th is what I was told. I have seen this deal posted before a while back, and just wanted to inform others that it is back again.

Is there a link for this or I have to go to local branch?

The thing that I found odd, was that on the Chase website they're still showing the old promotion for $100 cash back for $500 spent in 3 months. But I would definitely recommend going to a local branch as that is how I discovered the deal.

Duuuuuude, so there I am in my jammies last night, or this morning I should say at about 2 am, looking over my chase checking account online, and I see a lil ad that says Im pre-approved for the Chase Freedom Card, and you know how these offers are they tell you you're pre-approved but once you apply they deny you. I said what the heck and applied, usually on a credit card app they ask all your info like social security #, but because (I assume) I was a current customer they already had that info and just needed my yearly income. That's the only thing it asked me for, so I typed it in and hit submit, a few seconds later a pop up comes up basically saying we'll let you know and you'll get our decision in the mail in the next 10 business days. Yea, well I've heard that one before, that's a denial if I ever seen one. Wouldn't they just have a huge banner saying "Grats! You're approved" if I was approved on the spot? So i chalked it up to maybe it's not the right time and went to bed..

When I woke up later today, I checked my account online and lo and behold there's an extra part at the bottom with a new account number and all this new info....did i get it? Turns out I was approved for $1500! not so bad I'm new at this stuff but when I checked the Slickdeals forums for any specials with my new chase card to see if I can finally rack up on some of these deals, I find this post by the OP!

I remember seeing the $100 promo but not $200 so I immediately jumped on the phone with Chase, I don't even have my card yet lol since I JUST got approved a few hours ago, and I ask them about it. Told them about how a friend had walked into a branch and spoken to a banker and how the banker had mentioned the increase to $200 (lol the friend here is the OP) and sure enough he said I had that same offercode on my account. Not only so but you can get an additional 2500 bonus pts, or $25, if you add an authorized signer to the account and perform your first purchase. You don't even have to have an extra card mailed out to that person, and they don't have full access to your account, albeit they have some, but not full (not like a bank account where a joint account holder has all full administrative rights and can even close said account without the other, I was a teller for a major bank). So I added my kid brother to it, and it's going to improve his credit score as well. So in total we are talking about $225 back as statement credit, or even direct deposited into your chase checking as the customer service rep mentioned, on $500! That sounds awesome! You could buy a $500 item and end up only paying $275..In the end he said I would get the card in about 10 to 15 business days, so I just asked, and in a quite naive tone: "Any chance I can get that expedited?" thinking "Sure, for a fee!" and he said "of course sir! free of charge, I will be sending you the UPS tracking number in the next few hours, expect it on Monday" ROFL, all I had to do was ask!? Of course he didn't volunteer to send it out because naturally it costs them money to so, but If you apply online and they approve you, call them up and ask them to rush delivery it, they'll do it out of the kindness of their hearts and won't charge you for it Big Grin

Chase is rocking it, what's great is that I was able to use the $200 cash promo we had on slickdeals a whiles ago regarding opening a new chase checking account, that's $400 so far for doing business with them. Pretty neat. Hehe but I know they'll get it all plus more back in the long run with interest...

That's great to hear you got in the promotion. This is my first credit card ever, I've just had a college checking account with them for about 3 years and only used a debit card from them. So I wanted to make sure I did some research for a good starter card and this was the choice I decided on with the incentives and rewards. Especially the no annual fee is great on a poor college student, I was approved for $1000 laugh out loud

I applied for the Chase Freedom card online and was approved instantly. A few hours later I tried calling the customer service and mentioned the "friend" and asked if they can honor the $200 promotions but they refused and asked for proof Frown They say there is no promotion for the Chase Freedom at the moment. Is there any ways I can get the $200 promotion?

I called the application line as well, and aside from spouting irrelevant pre-scripted responses to questions I didn't even ask, she was not aware of the $200 promotion and said I should go into the bank my "friend" went to and try there.

Chase has increased the sign up bonus on their freedom card to $200 after $500 in spend. Regular deal is a $100 sign up bonus. Points can be converted into Chase UR if you have a card that earns those points. Card has no annual fees & 5% rotating categories.

You should see the offer at the regular webpage:

Hopefully somebody can make use of it.
