It's going to work with Apple's new home automation service too which is pretty swell. Http://www.cnet.com/news/apple-in...for-ios-8/

Happy Automating!

I have one of these - it's the most amazing lock I've ever had. I never thought I'd appreciate not having to carry a key nearly as much as I do. I gave the code to my parents and my in-laws so I never have to worry about them not getting in the house.

Super easy to install, and excellent price. 100% recommended!!

Looks like Apple is playing catch up again

HomeOS 2010 [microsoft.com]

This time it only took them 4 years, as opposed to 10 years with "using computer as a DVR/PVR" idea.

Only wrinkle on these models is that your deadbolt cannot be "problematic" to close. It needs to slide in and out smoothly. I saved a few bucks and went with the button version where you turn the bolt manually after entering the code.

Either way you go, No keys = amazing. house and detached garage have them, car is keyless, my keys never leave my pocket.

Yes, because so many people are using Microsoft HomeOS and/or microsoft products at all for home automation. shake head vomit

This is a pretty decent deal for a z-wave compatible lock.

I have 3 of these in the aged bronze color that I got from a previous deal. Have them hooked up to a vera lite and get alerts when certain codes are entered and what not. I love these locks. Fiance was a little skeptical when we shelled out $450 for 3 but she now says it was one of our best purchases in our house renovation and is always telling people to get them. Never having to worry about carrying a key, not having to worry if the house is locked, and best of all not paying a monthly fee for these services like most the other ones out there.

Is that confirmed? So this apple automation will control z-wave hardware? That would be pretty cool if true (i've been using vera for about 4 yrs) but I don't think anyone knows the specifics at this point. Anyone have anymore info about this?
