Sorry people, however, I gotta say stay away from Insignia. I had a 32" in the bedroom which was rarely used and it just wouldn't turn on one day after 15 months. I know that all brands have problems and there will always be a percent of defectives, but this brand seems to have a much higher percent. Plus, the picture quality is garbage. I'd MUCH rather get the 51" Samsung Plasma that is $400 from Sears as it has a great picture and has really good reviews...or I would take my chance on a 50" Changhong from Newegg before an Insignia...just my 2 cents

I bought a $250, 42" Insignia last year and it's great, albeit it's only 60hz but I thought I got a great deal, crisp clear and very bright and vivid.

I picked this up and hooked it up. Seems like a solid TV. I replaced a Insignia TV that was almost 10 years old which had no issues, accept it was 46".

For the money you cant beat it. I did have to ask as this was not out on display

Anyone else have any other bad or good experiences with this unit? Im on the fence.
I'm sitting infront of the monitor now. It is not native 120 Hz, nor does it overclock to 90 or 120 Hz. I'll be returning it shortly.

However, the picture looks nice, it looks bright in a day light lit room. So the 240 nits is totally wrong.

I'll keep messing with the different settings. There is "insignia motion" in the menu options which makes me think it is an effective 120 Hz.

Movies look great on the TV and the effective 120 Hz motion does look nice, however, it is still 60 Hz.

I might just wait for Vizio's P-series 50" 4k TV to come out. Sitting 3 feet from a 50" 1080p isn't very pretty.

screen is matte right? I have to return a plasma I got due to glare/reflection, so I'm paranoid about that, lol.

no such thing as real 120hz. anything over 30hz video and 24hz film is upscaled anyhow

I have 39" insignia with 720p and 60 hz. Going from 58" sammy plasma to this tv i hardly notice the the difference. Very satisfied so far. Might want to buy seperate speakers as oem speakers will suck for most tvs.
