They always charge extra for a V6. I should get a discount since I have a reusable filter.

My Sedona needs additional Quart of oil and so it's $4.40 more, plus the damn disposal fee. So it's more or less around $27 total. Not bad if they will really put Synthetic blend.

well, some people would rather pay than to install it themselves for convenience.

I wonder how much Firestone pays Slickdeals to get on the front page? They are THE poster child of why to NEVER trust auto service chain stores.

Anyone know how much per quart beyond 5?
Being a true SD'r, you might want to tell them to just put in the 5 quarts that come with the oil change. Then while the car is in their parking lot, you can just add the couple of quarts of oil that you brought along. I suspect they would charge you $5-7 for the extra oil if you let them do it. Wink I know with my Saturn (4 qts), I always have to tell them that I want the dipstick to show Full, not half way Full (3.5 qts). They don't like it but I at least want the dipstick to read full when I leave their lot. EEK!

My experience at Firestone has been abysmal. They have told me they rotated the tires, but never got the tool from me to remove the locking nuts. They have left dirty mats in my car that the technician were working on. And they have not refilled my liquids after claiming to have done so. Not to mention all the crap they try to sell me everytime I go there (fluid changes, brakes, you name it).. even on a car with less than 40k miles.

This is just two Firestone locations that I have been to so it is hard to condemn the whole chain, but I would not recommend them.

Can anybody tell me good deal on full sythetic oil changes? 50$ seems way too much and blend as somebody posted, is 99.999% conventional oil Frown. I can see a big performance jump when I use full-synthetic.
Replacing it yourself might lower costs, but if you aren't buying wholesale, perhaps not. If also question the quality of the oil filter. You can have good oil and a poor quality filter that clogs up quickly and now you have no filtered oil. Berry bad.

Now that's good advice about adding the quarts yourself. You won't burn up your engine moving it out to the lot, despite what they will say.

Absolutely agree. Not only are they dishonest, but personally and friends would also experiance where they didnt replace the oil filter, over filled oil by 1-2 quarts or not replace any oil/filter at all. I gave up on Firestone completely. You have to pay me $40 to take a chance having an oil change with them.

I have never had anything but bad experiences at Firestone. Last month I tried to use this same type of coupon at a nearby store @ 50th and L in Omaha, the clerk told me that my truck needed 8 quarts of oil (it takes 6 max) and that each of the additional quart would be $9 per quart. On top of that I would be required to pay an additional disposal fee for the 'extra' 3 quarts they would be draining from my truck as that wasn't covered by my coupon. Just out of curiosity (so I could post the info online) I asked him to show me the container that the oil comes in and he refused. I asked him to tell me the brand and specs of the oil they offer, he again refused claiming it was "company information" that he couldn't release. lol

I found it difficult to not laugh in his face, and failed. laugh out loud

I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding Firestone. Before I visited the store I let a couple friends/coworkers know about the deal and offered to print them coupons. They were like 'Sure, thanks!" right up until the point that they found out it was Firestone. This along with their completely empty parking lot/bays were pretty big hints that I should have picked up on before I went in.

Luckily, Advanced Auto Parts was having a deal at the same time, http://slickdeals.net/f/6907432-5-quarts-quaker-state-q-full-synthetic-filter-20-advance-auto-parts-b-m and conveniently had a store two lots down from firestone. I picked up 15 Quarts of full synthetic oil and 3 premium filters for $66 + tax. Also (and I didn't know this before) Advance auto also does free disposal of any used/old oil. They have a tank in back that they dump it into and then return you your container, which is kinda cool. If you can wait, I would recommend keeping an eye out for another advanced auto coupon, they seem to have good B&M sales and $ off coupons almost every month.

Thanks OP & rep, but TD for the deal purely because of Firestone. Frown
