Marketing term. There is no exact definition. It's supposed to be for their fast large aperture lenses. Yet the 19mm/20mm F2.8 aren't really that large. They weren't Art before and are Art now. So... I wouldn't get hung up on the designation.
Could someone please tell me if these lenses are compatible with Canon's EOS-M?
Nope, those only take EF-M lenses and nobody aside from Canon is making lenses for that mount. I just sold my EOS M last week, moving over to Sony for the juicy working autofocus, EVF and more lenses. Come with me.
This is a great deal but I cannot bring myself to spend more money on a lens... Thanks OP!
If you want to save the money and don't care about the body, SIGMA official outlet offers 1st gen 19mm and 30mm for $120. It's slightly cheaper. Optics are same, so you will get a same IQ.
I have been using these lenses since they came out on E-mount. They are amazingly sharp and cheap. The good thing about DN lens is they are also fine with FE mount. I'm not talking about APS-C crop mode. Remove the baffle and put on A7, you will get a good IQ with just a little vignette. Most of FE mount lenses cost about $1k, but these lenses are sharper than most of them and cheaper A LOT. I didn't have an enough money to buy FE lens when I got A7, but these lenses helped me to take great pictures.
