For order status:

https://www.dell.com/support/orde.../us/en/19/

need p.o. number from aafes, not order number - call 800-527-2345
select "bill to postal code" and use zip code 75266

Amazingly, order details emerge for your particular order
These ship from Mexico and mine is taking 8 days from order date to eta (ohio)

AlanA9389 reports that he rec'd his system with Win7 Pro installed and a Win8.1 Pro upgrade disk.

Mine arrived before the ship date, I think most others had the same experience.

====================
Apparently the Windows 8.1 software that is listed is because this gets a free Win 8.1 64-bit upgrade when you purchase it with the Win 7 installed. I'm curious to see if it shows up with the 8.1 upgrade software and license anyway...

Surprised that this deal isn't getting more attention. I realize it is MIL only but it is a steal at 185. My detailed order shows "retail win 7 included" and the win 8.1 upgrade dvd too. Maybe we are the only few that jumped on this. My ship date changed from 6/30 to 7/6 after i placed the order. Patience will pay off in the end...

My grandmother was a Marine and is in need of a new computer. Is she eligible for this?

Thanks, been waiting for a reasonably-priced desktop deal for a relative. This fit the bill, esp since I have a few extra Win7 licenses lying around.

I have no idea, sorry. I guess it's possible, if she retired from the marines and still has base privileges.

Probably no. I think you have to have a star card in order to register. The star card doesn't has to be active. They just need your information in the system.

You don't have to have a star card to have access to shopmyexchange.com. I think AAFES determines eligibility through DEERS, so if someone is registered with DEERS and has base privileges then they should be able to register with shopmyexchange.com.

I thought this wold be more popular. I've been looking for a couple of months for new/used desktops for the kids and 3-5 year old core 2 duo stuff sells for this price with no OS. Based on what I've seen out there this looked like a steal to me. I know the proc is not very fast, but the upgrade path is way better than a core 2 duo anything, from proc to RAM to video.

The Windows 8.1 DVD is funny, especially when the only OS option is Windows 7.

The military limitation is a big blocker for a lot of people. But you are right, totally a solid basic computer for a stupid low price.

In case they remove the deal, I created an order requisition and it's in my AAFES cart. I will have 4 days to decide.

My current desktop was from the i3 for $233.74 from another AAFES Dell deal a few years back. This is as good of a deal.
