Can anyone recommend a good guitar to use with this?
Guitars are complicated... My best advice is to go to the store and check out the guitar types there. Once you find a guitar that you can hold right, try and find one on sale somewhere with the same type of neck.
Guitars have different types on necks, and some necks can be very uncomfortable for the wrong type of hands...
Also, stay away from any guitar with a Vibrato type bridge. This will be a pain in the ass to tune or change tunings. Get a fixed bridge. These bridges are locked in place so u cant perform vibrato with a whammy bar.
It also depends on the price range you have to work with. Cheaper guitars tend to need some tweaking or setting up by a pro in order to play right without fret buzzing or other intonation problems...
You will need an electric guitar for this game. Acoustics (even with a pickup) don't work very well.
If you don't know if you want to try to be a rock god or not, either get a decent electric from a pawn shop or check out a used one for 30 days frorm Guitar Center. An accoustic can't do half of the techniques on Rocksmith.
DLC's 25%, about as cheap as it goes, but getting the band sets compounds the savings. Doubt it's acceptable for the rules, but google custom dlc and you can find something decent to keep you busy if you don't have much money or just don't like what's available
I am having a problem. I've never used Steam before but I downloaded it onto my computer and followed the directions. I put in the code and Rocksmith 2014 downloaded. When I try to play it, the images are all distorted. My computer I am using is a DAW computer and has plenty of RAM and power (i7, 12GB rams). It meets the minimum requirements of the game. I tried every troubleshooting tip online but I still seem to have the problem. I tried to log in and create my Uplay account by working through the wavy graphics. Then I got stuck at Ubisoft Servers not available. (Again, this is while it's all distorted as though lines were streaking down). I downloaded a demo of a formula 1 racing game to see if it was also distorted but it was completely fine. Any idea what may be causing this?
I would try updating the video card drivers. If that doesn't help, contact steam for help, or check their forums.
