I won the cordless version at a charity raffle a couple of weeks ago. It takes me about two hours to do all of my yard trimming with my Stihl gas trimmer. Part of the reason it takes so long is that I hate doing it so much it is usually very overgrown each time I get around to it.
The B&D impresses me as a trimmer. It is much better than the electric trimmers I've used in the past. It runs for about 15 minutes on one battery and comes with two so you can go for about 1/2 hour. After that I've had enough, anyway.
Yesterday I tried the "mower" attachment for the first time. I didn't hold out much hope for it. It is very light and reminds me of a Fisher Price mower for kids. However, it performed much better than I thought it would for my area. The auto line feed works very well. The trimmer is very easy to put in and remove from the mower. I used it on a hillside that has patchy weeds on it and under my porch where the grass isn't very thick. I am not sure how well it would work on a thick lawn where you want consistent rows.
Overall, I'd give it 5 stars for trimming and 4 for the mowing feature. It's very lightweight, doesn't smoke like my 2-stroke Stihl and isn't nearly as messy throwing green shrapnel. Now that I've had a chance to try it, I'd definitely pay $116 for one.
