Minor... don't kid yourself. They had to redesign the front structure so they could pass the small overlap front test. They went from the worst rating possible before the redesign, to just average afterwards.

Just to illustrate how important this is: Small overlap front represents 25% of all crashes. This is the type of crash that will determine whether your legs are injured or not.

I personally stayed away from Toyota because of this when I was shopping for a new car. Ended up with a Honda Accord because they designed it properly from the beginning.

If it was a minor issue, they would not be giving you such a hefty discount. laugh out loud

Great choice, did you happened to test drive both cars? I don't know which one I'm going to purchase, the Camry or the accord.

Don't get me wrong, the small overlap test is important but overall the Camry is still a safe car. That said - I did tell my aunt to go with a 2014 Forester over the CR-V for the same reason you went with the Accord over the Camry - the Forester was a TSP+ in the IIHS test.

Super good deal though. The 2014s I think are mostly gone in my area. They're advertising the 2014.5 LE for $19.9K which is still a decent deal.

Accord by default. Not even a question. They redesigned the camry. This camry looks shit and this is the answer why they are getting rid of them.

Because the Camry failed that test, it wasn't even in the running. Safety comes first, and within my budget, the Accord was the best choice for me. That's what I ended up buying, it's just a bonus that it looks better too(my opinion of course).

Hondas and Toyotas are appliances. If you love cars you're driving something else. Having said that, this is a very good deal on a very unsafe vehicle.

well I did google and it failed crash test done by iihs. camry pass other similar tests. since iihs gives out rating they decided to replace 2014 with 2014.5.

I think deal is on all camrys not just xle. on true car I saw altima going below 20 percent here in ma and accord 15 percent below msrp as well.
