This monitor is not available in the US right now; importers have been selling it for far more on eBay. Amazon & Newegg have it for $999.

$899 with free expedited shipping, no tax except for NY, Bill Me Later for 6 mos interest free financing. This monitor is going to replace my power hungry, aging HP ZR30W.

I also submitted the lower price to Amazon for those that want to buy there.

Small possible correction: WQHD is 2560x1440, while this monitor has an even greater resolution of 3440x1440.

ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WQHD...60x1440.29

I don't believe there's a nifty term for 3440x1440, though - probably better to drop the WQHD and just call it "3440x1440?"

So wide.... I can only imagine what 3 of these in portrait would look like.

I copied the product info directly from Adorama; all the other sites have it as QHD, so I'll just change it to that.

Bezel is really thin too, so Eyefinity is a possibility. But can you imagine the GPU setup you would need to run that many pixels? EEK!

This monitor has been slightly over this amount and hopefully will drop even more soon. This isn't a bad price if you really want one though. I am going to wait until this monitor hits 500-600 or so.

I need the monitor now and this is the lowest price that it has ever been. I chose this one over the new 4K monitors because there are no affordable 4K, IPS monitors over 30" yet. I doubt the price will hit your target price within the next year though given that this monitor just came out, but if it does, congrats!

Good luck getting this from B&H. You are a little late, this was posted back in mid May here on SD. The price fluctuates about every week. We are ALL still waiting on our monitors. They moved the date from 6/6 to 6/30. Who knows when it will actually ship.

Yes, I saw it go up and down. It was back at $999 last week when checked again. Amazon shows ETA as 6/30 as well. Hopefully it will ship within a reasonable amount of time.

Actually it is better:
2560 x 1600 30" - 25.44" × 15.9" = 404.49in² (64.62cm × 40.39cm = 2609.64cm²) at 100.63 PPI, 0.2524mm dot pitch, 10126 PPI²

2560 x 1440 27" - 23.53" × 13.24" = 311.5in² (59.77cm × 33.62cm = 2009.68cm²) at 108.79 PPI, 0.2335mm dot pitch, 11834 PPI²

3440 x 1440 34": 31.36" × 13.13" = 411.76in² (79.66cm × 33.35cm = 2656.48cm²) at 109.68 PPI, 0.2316mm dot pitch, 12030 PPI²

I would love to buy a 34" 3440x1440 IPS monitor for $499. Where can I find one?

this is looking to be an excellent monitor. check out linus tech tips on this video. this is his monitor of choice. aside from games that don't natively support this resolution, i can see this as a big step forward in immersive gaming

I assume you'd need a video card as expensive as this monitor to drive gaming at this rez?

Any ideas if this monitor could double as a TV? If just have HDMI coming out of the cable box, not sure how it could handle audio if I use this? I might be able to justify buying this if it could be used as both TV and monitor.

It's not just games (which will look stunning at this rez), but movies in 21:9 look awesome. I'm running dual R9 290's, but a single GTX770 4GB or R9 290 should be sufficient to get decent frame rates in most games at high settings. Your can just connect your cable box to your PC via a tuner card (then you get the benefit of unlimited DVR space). Or just get a SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime + Cablecard and you can save a bunch by not having to rent the cable box.

how are your framerates? i can only run games at a minimum of 60fps...can't stand lag.

Usually get around 50 - 70 fps depending on the game (this is everything maxed out at 2560x1600 except for AA). AA is really unnecessary at these resolutions. If I drop some of the candy and/or OC my cards a bit, then I get over 60fps with no issues. Everything runs butter smooth in games that support Crossfire (Hitman Absolution, Thief, Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3).

I was using a single GTX770 before and it gave me around 40 - 60 fps in most games on high settings at the same resolution.
