I was in Costco yesterday in Austin TX and they had a bunch of these stud sensors:

http://precisionstudsensors.com/p...r_5000.php

Except for the color this is identical to.

http://www.amazon.com/ProSensor-7...tud+finder

I was looking at the mostly identical pdf files for the two products and I noticed that the Costco version claimed to have a 1 year warranty but had no address or phone number. While in the Franklin PDF had an address and phone number for the warranty. I called that phone number from the Franklin PDF and they told me that if I had any problems I could return the Costco version to Costco, and reluctantly confirmed that it was an identical product.

A bit expensive even at 35 bucks , but seems like a great tool to have.

Have them at several tx locations as well. It works fairly well except on corners with the metal trim. It only sees half of the stud.

Costco here didn't get them till several weeks after I saw it here then they only had them for a week then they disappeared before I could get one. Didn't have the cash on me that day.

I wish I knew about this product before I build my 10 ft by 10ft climbing wall with the 3 ft overhanging extension. Was using B&D and made many holes behind that wall.

Hillsboro, OR - Costco got some.

Wallboard or paneling is usually fastened to wooden studs with steel nails.

More specifically, the Costco at Automation has it. Don't go to the one at Senter.
