Very tempting. I wonder if this would tide me over from getting the RX100III until it drops price in 2 years. My HX-9v needs a replacement.

How does this camera compare to the Nikon J1/J3 deals that have been floating around?

It doesn't - the S100 is a compact fixed-lens camera, while the J1 is an interchangeable lens system.

I've owned an S100 for over a year now, not had any issues with it. I read up on the lens error and apparently that was resolved with current production.

It's a great little camera, a good upgrade from an old P&S or high-end cellphone camera. For it's size and price it has good image quality and a pretty large sensor. But obviously won't hold a candle to a mirrorless or DSLR.

$130 is a crazy good price. I paid $300 a year ago from Amazon.

I got the A2300 for a beater KAP camera. I wanted an S100 or S110, but it seems with the printer deals the you can get the S110 for $190ish new with rebates.

Of course I'm now doubting if I should've went for the S100

I have a Canon SD750 from about 5+ years ago or something like that. Recently started to use it again to take photos of graduations. Don't think I use it enough to get a DSLR. So I guess I'll stick to compact digital cameras, which model is top of the line today?

Is it safe and legitimate to by directly from Canon like this? I didn't know that they sold the cameras, I just thought they made them and sent them to vendors.
