if it's gone it's normally because the max enrollment has been met. you snooze you lose
except that's not what happened (in the past). some people reported losing the offer from their inbox and the next day, other people were able to add it to their inbox OR use their card and take advantage of the deal still in their inbox. that's hardly a sign of maxing out.
in my experience, maxing out would mean you are no longer able to add it or it has disappeared from your available offers.
scamming the customer sounds more like boa, not something amex would do IMO.
side question I am thinking about getting a sofa set from costco, and I want to buy the costco cash card with my discover card. I am going to buy the card online and my question is is it safe to buy it online? it will be around 1100 bucks it's a lot of money. I think they mail you the card then you activate it once you get it? so if mail is lost you are fine is that right? I heard there are problems with people buying gift cards online like autozone, walmart etc. their balance gets used up and they can't get a refund.....are there any incidents like this for costco cash card when you buy it online? thanks
