I think it would be pure misery with kids in the heat and crowds. That's why we haven't returned.

We went in January. It wasn't hot or crowded and that is what made it tolerable. He got really tired by the end of the day and had a total meltdown. Good thing I run!

i love their shadows! their pro palette is very very nice. however they are like stila in that they do release cheaper palettes. i'm not sure if the quality is not as good on the cheaper ones - i have a couple of them from nords rack/hautelook.

that palette looks like it'd be very good for travel.

Big Grin Thanks ladies, it was big for an anxiety-packer like me. Embarrassment For the most part, I felt I had everything I needed. There's room for improvement Scratchchin I think I should have brought less bras ( I brought 4, plus 1 sleeping and 1 sport), and 1 - 2 pair less shoes ( brought 6 pair: sneakers, running shoes, 2 pair strappy sandals, 1 flip flops, and heels for the event), and 1 less swim suit (brought 3 sets). On the other end, I should have brought more camis and underwear.... can never have enough of either of those! One of our hotels offered to clean 1 item free per day, but we never took advantage Doh All like items were rolled and stuffed into packing cubes.

Space savers - weather was hot, so nothing more than a rain jacket and cardigans were needed. Only liquids I brought were things hard or expensive to get there - sun block and bug spray and travel size of my trusty spf 30 moisturizer. MU- brought only tweezers, mini-size travel waterproof mascara, UD eye pencils that could double as liner and shadow, tinted gloss, concealer pot, UD mattifying powder, Avon mineral powder. Luckily, my gown rolled up into a loose ball fit into my Vera Bradley bag and didn't need to be pressed - the humidity and satin let the wrinkles fall out. They had a million 7-elevens and other drug stores for what the hotels did not provide... and they provided nearly everything (toothpaste, shavers, shaving cream, etc.). I'm glad I brought deodorant tho, b/c at the drugstore- the deodorant had whitening agents in it EEK! ? For when your pits need that extra glow? Teehee

Space saver for the way home- I threw out my deodorant (was falling apart), threw out the offending dance heels, and purchased a few souvenirs...but many I made a mental note of and am now purchasing them online to be shipped from the same city I saw them in.

Very exciting. That sounds like you're looking for an open floor-plan. I think it's still popular now with newer homes, but it was also popular in the 1950's and maybe more build years. That's when our place was built and it has an open concept floor plan too. Knowing when it was popular might help narrow the search of homes to ones that were built during a time some feature you like was popular. Good luck to you!

laugh out loud i am familiar with this. we don't want dark armpits. it may be we believed deodorants make armpits darker, so they made deodorant have whitening effects.

also, in general, lighter skin is preferred (i personally don't mind my darker skin). at some point (iirc i was in college), there are whitening body lotions. i'm not sure if those still exist now.

Did you see the br stacking deal? Apparently if they send you a 40% off coupon (email subject we want to wow you, or come shop with us) they don't expire. Probably just a glitch.. I found a ton of them once I knew what to look for. Annoyed the person in the thread didn't elaborate last night since I placed a ton of orders including a reward order using just the 25% or 33% (25/75).

Dh asked me to buy him clothes so I ordered a ton of his stuff.

Yes - that was one reason I brought my own sunblock, I read everything has whitening agents and when I got there, sure enough... EVERYTHING OMG Yes, the people we know there that are celebrities are half-white. I guess instead of having to do with people "wanting to be white", which is why I was so confused when I was little- "why do the light-skinned want to be dark and dark-skinned want to be light?", from what I understand it has more to do with darker skin equating with lower economic status/ social class and working outside in the elements - royalty and the rich would have lighter skin by virtue of not having to work outside and having servants or farmhands to do that for them. As far as why the lighter-skinned (caucasian) prefer tanner skin than what they have... maybe that is our way of showing off higher social/economic status... we have time to go to the beach and not be working inside getting pale? Scratchhead All I know is, I'm thinking way to hard about this laugh out loud /verbal diarrhea

DH is opening up to the real idea of buying a home here! He mentioned that he's interested in having a second child, I asked him if he's ok with me not working, I also said that we wouldn't all fit where we're renting. We're going to talk to his mom tomorrow, since she researches homes and goes to open houses as a hobby, about the next steps, and her opinion. It might be that we're not ready, we'd be first time homebuyers. DH is stressed, thinking about it all. Meanwhile, I have a giant list of must haves, wants and bonus features I'm interested in, I used my sisters home buying list as a blueprint. I even did this rough sketch of what we're looking for as far as space. The bedrooms can be moved around and put on a second floor, but I really want a combined open living room, breakfast nook, kitchen. When I was little, I would dream about floor plans, and home interior design, while everyone was dreaming of their perfect wedding laugh out loud

I'm a complete newb at this, so I'm sure I'll be getting lots of advice. We have enough saved for a deposit and a little extra for repairs and we both have excellent credit. DH isn't comfortable giving up all he's saved. I don't want to push this, if he's really not ready, but homes in this area are rising and so will interest rates.

How exciting! I'm in the process of fixing up my house to sell it next spring. I have A LOT of work to do, plus I need to buy a new kitchen flooring, new carpet through out, a furnace, A/C, water heater, and get the garage roof replaced. Doing all of that is going to wipe out my savings. Sadwalk Then the plan is to fix up the boyfriend's house to sell it and then we will buy a house together. The new house is going to have to have room for the 5 kids we have between us and be in the school district that his boys are already in. I've been glancing at houses online and most of the ones I like are out of my price range. laugh out loud
