Nice post, I got my email about this, on 7/1, I believe it was, signed in...

kinda worthless to me though. I can't watch live Braves games, although I'm about an hour and a half out of their Market, My ISP is located within their market, so when MLB.tv detects my IP addy, they think I am watching from the Charlotte area...

Also I tried watching tonight from my PS4, just to see how the MLB.tv app was on there, and I am unable to watch from it, nor am I able to watch from my 360...I can watch from Firefox, however, which it isn't an issue, I can always watch it from my computer to my TV via HDMI, just a little added work, to plug my soundbar to my desktop...eh. oh well.

Just found this weird, because the first night I started my trial, I was able to watch it on my 360...

Quality has been atrocious this year. So many different devices have had problems, and as always, they blame it on the users --- even though every other streaming service seems to work flawlessly but MLB.tv.

I know they usually have hiccups at the beginning of the season, but we're into July and they still can't get it running. Major League fail.

Sounds like you need hot spot shield. It gives a bogus IP address for you when you log in to any url ...I had to use it to pick up the Houston Rockets games on NBA League Pass for the last 2 years...

So this is a service that normally costs money and yet you are still blocked from watching local games when they are blacked out? Sounds like money well spent! LMAO

Would actually pay for the service if the local team wasn't blacked out, for hot spot shield is the free version all that is required or do you have to pay for the elite version? I would prefer to use my Roku for the viewing so I don't know how blocking the Roku's location would be done versus a laptop. Thanks

When it comes to bypassing the blackout rules, Privateinternetaccess.com has served me well for two years. I can get access on my Roku, PS3, PC, and Sony Blu-Ray player.

Only place I have trouble with in-market games is my phone and ipad due to location services. And I haven't cared enough to find a workaround for those.

Eh, I don't want to have to call or email to stop the subscription. I'll pass. If I can't unsub from the account settings, I tend to find it's harder to get a subscription for a free trial canceled. I have another year of Car and Driver thanks to that sort of practice.

For $5/month you can get a VPS so your IP will show that you're somewhere far enough away. They have pretty easy instructions there too so you can run your PC, Xbox, PS4, or your whole network through their service.

All I have ever used is the free version. Once I get the stream started, I close hot spot shield. There is some nagging to buy the pay version, but I have not yet bought. The only Rocket Games I miss are those that are picked up by NBA Network for national broadcast. Those games are blacked out on the on line NBA League Pass feeds.

"Brought to you by Chevy." Isn't GM in over their heads? They've got a public relations nightmare on their hands. They're dealing with a massive recall of millions of cars and approx. 13 deaths (and numerous injuries) related to the faulty ignition switch.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I've tried using proxy servers before, with mediocre luck. Once I got burned buying an entire season at full price a few years back, and not knowing whether or not I would be able to watch a game on a given day, just left a bad taste in my mouth with this service. I'm gonna give the suggestions posted in here a shot, and see if I can catch today's game live. Thanks!
