I don't think this sub has ever reached that price.

For those looking for detailed measurements and frequency response curves:

Personally, I don't know if this looks all that impressive for the price. I bought the Dayton Audio Sub-1200 for less than half the price and it has pretty similar response measurements. You would be much better off buying a pair of Dayton Audio sub-1200 subs from Parts Express... the overall experience will exceed what you will achieve with a single BIC PL-200 and will help mitigate room acoustics and resonances that can cause significant differences in bass response at different viewing/listening locations in your room.

If you want the next step up, then you should probably save a bit more and spend ~$500-$600 on a Hsu, SVS, Outlaw audio LFM-1-EX or other quality sub that goes down to 20Hz. Otherwise, the Dayton Audio sub is pretty damn good for a budget sub.

I have been eying the BIC F12 for a few months now, as an upgrade to my Polk PSW10. Any idea how this compares to the F12? Thanks!

Damn this is an awesome price. I paid around $350 for each of my two Subs about 3 years ago. They are still working flawless and are part of my 7.2 surround system purely using BIC Accoustech series of speakers.

it's all about money. you're talking twice the price for a better product. with these, they are cheap, have an insanely good warranty and create output. depending on the room, room gain could also make these a solid 30hz sub really easily

I have had mine for about a year and a half and added a Klipsch RW-12D for a 5.2 setup (with RF-82IIs, an RC-62II and RS-52IIs) and I love the output.

Except that's exactly he's saying. For about $100 less you can buy the Dayton sub which is at least an as good if not better budget sub without venturing into higher end 500-600 range, making this deal less hot. While it's a decent deal for this particular model, when comparing across models apples to apples there are other subs out there at a fraction of a cost which sound equivalent or better to this one.

Any knowledge on how this BIC compares to the Polk PSW505?
