Dell Venue 8 Pro - Touch Issue - do you have this issue?

OopsMyDeals 262 58 July 7, 2014 at 12:26 PM
So I am deciding if I should keep my Dell Venue 8 Pro after this month because of the double tap issue I been experiencing since I got it 5 months ago. Here the issue I am having https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S89esnguXSU, where it constantly registered multiples tap even with the updates they push out.

I know Slickdeal had a few dell venue 8 pro sale for a few weeks I am wondering if other slickdealer have the same issue with their newer or refurbish model? I already did my research on other forum it looks like a general issue with the Dell Venue 8 Pro. Frown

I don't get multiple key presses using the touch keyboard - I think that's the problem you're talking about? I did update the BIOS when I got mine, so its at A08 I think.

Yeah, that's part of the problem. A light touch usually starts it. Even on Chrome or anywhere scrolling sometimes become a zoom or a double click.

I don't own a Venue to fully test the theory, but there are settings you can change in "Filter Keys" in Ease of access in the Control Panel.
As you use a pen I don't know if that is what is causing the problem.
Does the same occur with your finger?

The stylus use was a regular rubber stylus not the digitized pen that Dell got. Yes, it happen when I use with my fingers too.

No I don't which update it was either Bios at that time or one specifically for touch. I have had mine about 9 months I think.

There is a new bios update [dell.com] from June 19th of this year.

There is also a Panel Touch Firmware update for Dell Venue 8 Pro 5830 from this year.
