Remember you would need either a steel or a solid core door for this. I bought one for my garage to house door. Turns out it was a hollow core and could not put this on. Had to sell it on craigslist.

Can I ask why it matters?

Anyone know of a electronic deadbolt that is keyed on both sides? I have been searching for a while but can't seem to find one.

not easy to find anymore. companies dont make those anymore for a safety issue. a person could bot get out of the house without a key. fire hazard

Pfff. I'll risk safety at the expense of safety.

i can't say enough good things about the schlage keypad locks. it's the first thing i installed after moving in to a new place. i have the non dead-bolt (regular handle) version and my mom has the deadbolt version and we both love it.

it's great being able to come and go without worrying about keys. she hasn't locked herself out of the house since then (which she did at least a couple times per year).

you can easily add and remove codes for other people (friends, family, babysitter, etc) and remove them when you're done.

the battery that came with mine has been going strong for almost 2 years now. eventually the battery will die so i recommend keeping a key with someone close by, or accessible like in your car.

I had just ordered one of these for $100 less than a month ago. Time to see if Amazon will price adjust.

Edit: SOB, Amazon says they will only pricematch for 7 days. So I said, can I return it and reorder it? Yup, only downside is it costs me $8 shipping, so still cheaper, and they processed it that way. But its stupid because that costs THEM more money to process the return and lose out on their shipping cost, but she just says "its policy". *facepalm*

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I should have asked the question differently. Anyone know of a electronic deadbolt that is keyed on both sides and does not require a combination for entry AND EXIT? I have a window beside my door and double keys is needed in this case. I have been searching for a while but can't seem to find one.

Just bought these at Home Depot for $130. This is a steal. Does anyone know if I select Quantity as 2 that they will be keyed the same? There's a "Match this code" field that you can look at on the boxes to get two boxes with the same key.
