Have an idea. The furnace does have a whole house humidifier attached to the main stack that only turns on when the blower is on. There is an adapter of some kind that puts out 24V (I think that is the voltage) when the blower is on - telling the humidifier to turn on.
Is there any way I could leverage this?
Have you looked into the sail switch I originally recommended?
BTW: Your humidifier gets its signal from a sail switch!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did look into that. I don't see a sail switch anywhere on the unit (based on my limited knowledge and what I have seen on youtube).
There is some kind of power transformer that is hooked up to the main house 120V. It has two little screws on it with wires hooked in that the humidifier is connected to.
24VAC xformer; it's the relay switching power that the whole system uses. When tstats call for ac, heat or fan they simply connect the 24V+ through that circuit. I guess you could co-opt the fan 24V in parallel, as the fan should come on every time the system calls for ac or heat.
