My current subscription ends in a few months. Could I buy this and not activate it until then?

a few years back I had a hard time uninstalling webroot after deciding on using another antivirus software package...it was a bit annoying that they imbedded their software so aggressively, almost like...a virus...

This product works great for me. No issues and very low resource usage...

I tried their top tier software on my windows 7 pro desktop last year and it did all kinds of weird stuff to the system... I wanted to like the software due to the fast scans and low resource load but in the end the bugs were worse than the performance gains. Afaik they might have fixed the problems I had by now, but I'll list what I remember here just in case it happens to you:

1. Some kind of disk space leak (like a memory leak but for files...). The install directory was pushing 5 GB by the time I got rid of it. The "solution" offered in their forum was to uninstall/reinstall (but I found the problem was better fixed by just doing the first half.)
2. Caused horrible performance of taskmgr.exe somehow. When task manager was open its process would only run at 100% cpu (regardless of priority). Resmon still worked normally...
3. Caused some system processes to suspend instead of terminate normally which caused all sorts of secondary problems (keyboard stops working, explorer.exe crashes, etc.)

You might want to try a trial version or wait until it's FAR to give this stuff a try.

Yes just don't delete the email with your install code, or you have to go back to newegg customer support and they will need to open a ticket to get it resent. I think it stays in your account for 60 days.

There should be no problem. In my case I called sales, and had them extend my current subscription. (That is, I let them 'destroy' the new key in exchange for more time added to my current key.)

For if you enter the new key into the software, it will start the timer from that point at one year on the new key, and not add it to your current key's time.

Thus, it took a manual intervention for sales to add to my current subscription, but I was more than a few month away. I think you will be fine and long as you keep up with the key.

They don't always pay their rebates but that' not an issue in this case.

I like webroot except anything you want to do, i.e. save settings to shutting it down, requires a captcha.

You can disable the requirement for Captcha in the Advanced Settings (click on the gear) under the Access Control section. Smilie
