Thanks, OP! I was just looking for a deal on this exact model last night - this is perfect for my living room set up.

I have this system from black friday last year. It's awesome and I would purchase again.

I do recommend adjusting the settings from default though. I noticed that the surround sound speaker volume was turned way down and once I cranked that up it really shined. I had to turn the bass down too, cus it definitely bumps (I'm living in an apartment tho).

No, it has RCA and optical in from TV - Vizio expects you to manage devices through TV.

Damn just bought this yesterday at Best Buy new for $250 (less some rewards and GCs). Anyone know how reliable the refurbs are? The 30 day warranty scares me, but $75 cheaper is a substantial amount.

"Wireless Subwoofer & Wired Rear Satellite Speakers"

I would much rather have a wired subwoofer and wireless rear satellite speakers. Why would they do this?

It is wired to the subwoofer. So the idea is that you would place subwoofer and rear speakers in the back of the room.

I grabbed this new for $200 on Black Friday, and I'm extremely pleased. Better sound than I expected from something on the lower tier, especially from the sub. The satellite speakers are fairly weak in my opinion, but for me they were just a bonus anyway. I'm not sure if their output can be adjusted, I didn't tinker around with settings at all.

It works well for my personal setup. Sub behind the couch, wired satellite speakers on end tables until I eventually get unlazy enough to mount them on the wall.

I would have passed if it was a wired sub with wireless satellite speakers.

"Wireless" rear speakers would still require a power source. That means they would need batteries (heavy, expensive, charging/replacement) or power cords. Running the rear speakers off the subwoofer allows smaller wires to the speakers and only one power cord to the sub. I placed our sub on the back wall centered behind the couch.

I just bought this two days ago from BJ's for $280.

Pros:
  • Great surround sound quality
  • Remote with LCD screen for easier set-up.
  • LED lights on sound bar show sound levels when adjusting.
  • Wide variety of inputs (besides HDMI- see Cons)
  • Bluetooth works great

Cons:
  • Lack of HDMI is biggest weakness since I can't run a pure signal from the PS3 to the sound bar and the TV. There is a very noticeable sound difference when I run the TOSLINK from the PS3 directly to the sound bar since TV reduces output signal to 2-channel. I will probably by a $30 TOSLINK switcher so I can run an optical signal directly to the sound bar when watching movies from the PS3.

This is an outstanding deal for $175.

Assuming the quality of the refurb is high then this is a totally solid deal. We have one of these units mounted above a 47" LG smart tv in our den and it really does produce very good quality sound for tv, blu-ray movies, and streaming music via bluetooth from my Nexus 7. The installation was completely painless since the sub/surround speakers paired up automatically with the soundbar itself as soon as I powered everything up. The lack of HDMI input is somewhat irritating, but I'm just running an optical cable from my tv and the results are certainly good enough for my ears (thought I'm no audiophile).
