So today I came across a new venture by the name of Verto Smart Panel. Similar to other concepts, they pay you in exchange for the ability to track your data usage.
Verto will pay you $5 just for signing up, and another $10 once you've had the app installed for a week. Thereafter, they'll pay you $5 per month to continue tracking your usage. You can select to be paid via PayPal (immediate payment) or Amazon credit (24hr wait period.)
Now, I know many of you are going to get all types of opinionated and I'm already anticipating the comments of the "ridiculous/invasive permissions" and how your privacy "is worth more than $15!" To you folks I have two things to say:
- Your life probably isn't nearly as exciting or worthy of extra attention as you're thinking it is. Unless you're looking at things you're not supposed to, you have nothing to worry about. Stop crying.
- If you are on Android and rooted, you should download an Xposed module named XPrivacy. This app allows you to control/block permissions that you feel are unnecessary and/or invasive by returning "null" responses. It also gives you the ability to change (on an app-specific basis) identifying info such as serial number, IMEI, Android ID, etc.
1. Sign-up at https://vertosmart.com.
2. Download app.
3. Collect $15 after one week.
4. Delete app.
**5. If using XPrivacy, it should be possible to redownload app with new identifying information, sign-up again, and cash out another $15 after the next week. However, this has yet to be verified.
