This TV is $599 at Microcenter. Best Buys seems to have price matched to Microcenter. Price is available IN-STORE only. I just picked mine up at 7/12 8:30 p.m. for $599 at the Tustin Microcenter.

Newb here...How do I price match Amazon.com? Their policy seems to say that they don't directly do this?

TVs are the exception. You should be able to open up a chat with them, verify that they'll honor it, order it at their price, and then just give them the order number.

Disregard my previous statement.. Obviously I was wrong and PLASMA technology with its huge particles and smuginess is superior technology.

Still get compliments from people on my LG 60" plasma and I think its a model or two behind this one.

Its heavy as @#$@# but I'll be damned if you can find a better picture especially at this entry point.

Just a heads up. Tv companies are phasing out plasma. I'll link an article when I get home. Samsung had dropped the production this year because try are planning to phase out of plasma

The biggest reason being that doing 4k on a plasma would be too difficult to do and that's where TV is going. And a popular misconception that plasma's are inferior to LCD's, thanks to the supersaturated and the soap opera effect that LCD's show off in bright showrooms in best buy (not really sure why people are wooed by these artificial-like settings).

It's a shame though, since plasmas outclass even the 4K LED TV's today. Look up the top TV's of the year featured in CNET and other TV enthusiast sites, and you will see a trend showing that the top televisions are plasmas. Although it might be a little different this year since panasonic discontinued their line and samsung are just re-releasing the older line. But even then, many people regard this year a disappointing year for HDTV's.

The only suitable upgrade from here are the OLED's, which are still expensive. Until then, it's not really worth upgrading a plasma made within the last few years.

As for this deal itself; it seems pretty decent, but LG's are widely known as the lower tier when it comes to plasmas.
