Im about there myself. I have a 2xs thats barely functional. My Roku 2 is ok, no new Netflix app. Been mostly using apple tv these days. Considering a fire tv as the next device.
I do have the feeling that I am almost there, too. Haven't bought into the 3 and it is just so hard to put out the $$ for the almost antiquated keying and the skips and loading errors I get with my "old version" 2s.
It is a great device - just doesn't seem to be advancing as much as it probably should. Oh well
We have 2 Roku 3s in our house and absolutely love them. With Plex and the Netflix/Hulu/Amazon line-up they were hard to beat at the time of release. We tried the Roku 2XS at one point and it was way too slow. The WiFi was terrible and the UI was terribly slow. The Roku 3 fixed all of these problems.
The only real complaint is the HBO Go App. Comcast doesn't allow the HBO Go App on Roku to stream, so it is useless for HBO. Chromecast to the rescue though.
If Chromecast had come out sooner, we'd probably just have two of those and never looked back. Other than a cleaner interface and an actual remote, I don't think the Roku 3 does anything more than a Chromecast with an Android phone/Chrome tab can do.
