Spinner wheels are a different beast and usually cost much more. 4 spinner wheels allow 360 degree upright rolling so there is no weight on your arm. -iconian

is this brand better than Samsonite?

I believe Samsonite is way much better than American Tourister in terms of quality. With American Tourister the price is way much cheaper than Samsonite. Just like to know the warranty of American Tourister is it also the same with Samsonite?

looks like these carry the same 10 year warranty like samsonites, american tourister is kinda like rebranded samsonite to hit the better value price points, im guessing they might lower the denier or something like that to differentiate but it really offers a great value imho

Thanks for the amazon feedback about this luggage. I guess will have to try out this brand as well. Test the difference between Samsonite and this.

I own 4 pieces of this set, 2 in the largest airline size and 2 in the next size that nestles inside the big one. They are great, well built and have survived 8 or so domestic round trips without issue. Comfortable padded handles even with loaded 50lbs One of the best handle designs I've seen the handle is basically connected to the Whole bag not a few inches. Telescoping part hasn't broken yet and the spinners are the only way to go if you have 3 bags and 1 person. Carry-on can be drag behind or spinner in left hand then 2 of these back to back holding onto the telescoping handles with your right hand and you can move 140lbs of luggage through an airport with ease.

Also the model of American tourister is very important. They make cheapo stuff as well, this however is rather nice. Great quality to cost ratio I'd see this lasting a lifetime for a casual traveler.

The cloth sides are that however.. just cloth, although I haven't had an issue I would have liked some plastic there, flexible cutting board type material for example which I might add myself.

The price is also great I think I paid $125-150 per large bag and $100 for the medium sized with no regrets.
