OP note: I have had this exact shaver for two years and it is really great. Super reliable, giving me a close shave every day in a matter of minutes without irritation. The only reason I found (and bought) this is the unfortunate loss of my original at a hotel, but I would gladly pay full price.
Amazon.com has Panasonic Men's 3-Blade Arc3 Wet/Dry Rechargeable Electric Shaver (ES8103S) for $77.93 - $20 when you "clip" the coupon on the product page = $57.93. Shipping is free. Thanks electrobento
It would work great for keeping any new growth down on one's head, I'm sure. It's not meant to mow down a head of hair though.
actually it is... its pretty decent to shave your head with... if you keep up with it on the daily basis or every other day... if you let it get too long then its harder to shave your head with...but anyone who shaves their head will have clippers and or know this already... the only difference between using this on your head or your face is that with your face you can go 1-2 years before you need new blades (as long as the foil isnt damaged you can use and not have to replace it, but you do need to replace the blades) if you shave your head and face with this youll need to replace the blades every 6 months to a year... you can always go longer but the shave isnt as easy, close or last as long...so it all depends on how much you care about how close you want your shave... its still smooth, but you can just tell a difference between 1st month of shaving vs 8th month of shaving for example...
highly suggest using some sort of exfoliation and non drying soap (dove) on your head before you shave it
and as far as care for the shaver... take the foil off and rise all the hair out of it...put it back on and rinse it off again and then add a drop of liquid soap (shampoo is fine) and run it for 30 seconds or so..you can use the clean function if you want....take the foil off and rinse it all off good.. then do no replace the foil back on the unit... set them both out to air dry.. if you really want the blades and foil to last longer dip them in 90% rubbing alcohol before setting them out to dry to help them dry faster with less oxidation on the blade (keeps them sharper longer)... or you can buy remington shaver spray (5 bucks at walmart) but I prefer cheap rubbing alcohol... or you can air dry them with your wifes blow dryer to help them dry faster... this will keep them sharper and less calcification on them from hard water
Thx for this info. Try to find cheap one to replace my old ES7037.
In for 2.
Would this be much of an upgrade over a Norelco 7000 series shaver? Does the head shape of this make it easier to shave the upper neck and under jawline? I have always had the 3-head rotary type of shavers.
