They DO have built-in ethernet ports and "Smart" TV apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc. However, you will need to run an ethernet cable from the player to your router, buy a wireless bridge, use a Powerline Adapter/MoCA, or some models support wireless with an optional "proprietary" wireless stick.
If you haven't used up your Total Defense Bundle this month at Newegg, they have a pretty nice bundle on a bridge for Blu-ray players for only $10 AR: HERE[newegg.com]
Bridges usually cost $25 to $30, so it's an okay discount.
Also, if you look at the Samsung model (BD-D5300), that particular one supports an optional wireless link stick (Samsung WIS09ABGN).
How is it an instant rebate if you must mail in the paperwork and wait 8 weeks? Also Shoprunner's $8/month so shipping is not free.
Sorry for the confusion...
1) MIR = Mail In Rebate (at least that is what I was aiming for)
2) The charge for shipping on the invoice will be zero, I don't think it is standard to prorate the cost of shipping memberships like Shoprunner, Prime etc. to individual items in a deal thread since it will differ person to person. Btw, shoprunner is highly obtainable for less than $8/month. Most people that use that service in SD have it for free I suspect.
I know this Tiger Direct one is BDP2900/F7 vs BDP2900/F7N - not sure what the difference is, likely to be mostly the same though.
Yeah I saw those. Gotta put in perspective what amazon buyers might have paid and the fact that more than a few are complaining about the lack of a feature they should have known about at purchase time. I would have summarized them in the OP but I truly have given up on reviews as a tool anyway...companies are gaming them to death. Check the reviews on some 3rd party amazon seller's product that a SD editor posts deals for sometime. They will probably be through the roof because they promo'd/gave so many away in exchange for good reviews.
Best example is Sabrent/Store4PC that iconian promotes so heavily on here. They have a 100% positive seller rating on amazon because they file a suppression complaint with amazon for ANY neutral or negative seller feedback. Where people have fought them on bogus suppression claims they make amazon remove it from the calculation. It stays on the site and amazon adds a comment taking the blame lol.
