I have a amex deal offer that expires today, can I buy a dell gift card for 600$ now to avail the amex offer. Can I use that card to find a LG tv deal (like above with gift card back offers)? Please suggest.

Anybody know if this display has a RS232 control port? Can't seem to find the manual on Sharp's website.

These Sharp sets are just flat out not very good...

If it this was something like a cheap 32" deal for a kitchen TV then I could justify it, but spending over $1,000 for mediocrity seems silly. There have been WAY better deals lately on TV's.

If you want affordable LED screens, look at LG, or even Samsung's Lower-End Models.

Can you elaborate on this? Is the picture poor? Bad support? The lack of built in smart functionality? The reviews are mixed across various stores. I can't tell if it is just a few bad apples type thing or if this set truly is a "budget" model from Sharp.

I am used to Sharp being fairly competitive/high end so maybe this is a new sales channel for them?

Just about every thread on SD have smart mouth that bash about the product now days.
I am sorry, but there's many review of people who actually have the TV proof you otherwise:

You can spend more on a low end Samsung or Sony. All you gonna get is either 3D, SMART TV, or more ports, but you'd hardly get any noticeable bump in PQ.
Please show us that you actually own the TV before you provide us any of your biased opinions.

If you read some of the reviews on Amazon or other site - they say the picture quality is great, yet here on SD the comments are mostly negative

In my mind, Sharp makes good products and if you look at the Dell "easy return" policy - you have 30 days from the invoice date to send it back and Dell will pay for the shipping and there is no restocking fee. What do you have to lose?

I ordered one - thanks OP

Can anyone with personal knowlege please let me know if the bezel is 100% black? All of the photos online (including Sharp's website) have a strange gray around the top edge and part down the sides.

Thanks.

I bought this TV last time for the parents. It's 100% black - I didn't see any gray. Picture wasn't good until messing with the color settings

I'm considering the new 65" Emerald series from JVC. It also comes with a Roku streaming stick.

Price is $999 at Costco. Thoughts?

This tv is very good with very good black avs panels, good color and motion, ok viewing angles. The stock setting are very bad,but tweaking the setting and the picture is awesome. Mixed tv review are due user error rather than a bad name brand tv. Turn off most of your features then work up.

There always going to be sd users with bad judgment or deal sandbagging. Use the ignore list to help clean crap post.
