This phone has a quad core processor and 1GB of RAM. Reviewers say the screen looks good for it's low resolution. I'm pretty certain that a T-mobile sim will work in this. Univision is a T-Mobile brand aimed at hispanic markets.

Phone comes with Android JellyBean and is said to be getting KitKat in the future.

YMMV: I bought one at $49.88 here in Indiana. The Chicago stores I looked at have them at this price. So does a NJ store I checked. Others are reporting success in their area.

If you are not seeing the $50 price try changing selection to your nearest store. According to a few Slickdealers (cr8ter, thomas_coker, Makivante) this phone should work with your existing T-Mobile SIM card.

FAQs:

Q. Can this phone be SIM unlocked?
A. Yes.

Q. Where can I get the phone unlocked?
A. If you have T-Mobile service already, try calling them to unlock the phone (don't tell them it is the Univision version). No guarantees but it's worth a shot. If that doesn't work, you might want to start here [google.com]. A quick glance at prices show it will cost you $17 and up.

Q. Will this phone work on T-Mobile prepaid (no unlock)?
A. Yes.

Q. Will this phone work on T-Mobile postpaid (no unlock)?
A. Yes (confirmed by AngoraDG here).

Q. Will this phone work on MetroPCS?
A. Yes but will likely need to be unlocked first.

Q. Is this phone better than the LG Optimus L70?
A. Yes, this phone has 4G LTE, quad-core processor and more internal storage (8GB vs. 4GB for L70).

Q. Is this phone better than the LG Optimus F6?
A. It depends on what is important to you: it's cheaper and has a quad-core processor, more internal storage (8GB vs. 4GB for F6) but screen resolution is a bit lower (800x480 vs. 960x540 for F6) and screen is smaller (4.0" vs. 4.5" for F6).

Q.Can it be easily rooted?
Yes, and this is the way you do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/a...y-t2823555 (Dylan)

Q. How do I get a T-Mobile SIM?
A. Some T-Mobile stores would give you one free, some would charge you $10. You can get one on-line through this deal http://slickdeals.net/f/7103652-t-mobile-prepaid-phone-sim-card-activation-kits-0-01-free-shipping?v=1

I added the item to my cart and noticed it said order subtotal 169.99 as well. I went on to checkout and selected store pickup which got me to the credit card info page where it showed total 53.68...hope that helps

I'm in Indiana and I picked one up for $49.88. I checked some other zip codes for Chicago and a city in NJ and they had it listed in the flyer for the same $49.88 price. Another zip in California showed the $169.99 price.

Anyway, I think $50 for this phone is pretty good if you can get it.

Nice. I think there are some glitches here. Another thing I've noticed is that even though the price shows up for $49.88 for me, whenever I refresh the product page, the price displays briefly as $169.99 and then changes to $49.88.

I'm hoping so. I bought one to replace the $30 Alcatel OneTouch Evolve that I purchased two days ago that is painfully slow. I figured this $50 quad core would be a lot zippier.
