Thanks OP.

Stupid question--- is the OS 32-bit or 64-bit? Didn't see this detail on the specs.

its 8GB .. so im assuming its a 64-bit as otherwise 4GB of the memory wouldn't work. hp sucks but not that bad.

Pretty good deal. I bought the same model two years ago (before it was called an Envy, and before Haswell was out) and the thing has been a workhorse. No issues so far. Would recommend.

p.s. if you want to upgrade do it yourself, save yourself a lot of money. I added an evga gtx 660 and a corsair psu and a Samsung ssd. All fit great in the case and the temps remained cool despite the limited space and lack of fans.

How does this compare to this PC:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6883220446

I really need to make a purchase soon. The PC will partly be used as a server hosting map services and running SQL Server. But I will also use it to run other applications.

I already have an OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular PSU that I would throw into whatever I buy. Eventually I'd upgrade the GPU as well.

For your purposes I would recommend the Asus. It has a bit more energy efficient cpu and double the storage of this HP to boot. HP doesnt specify how many sata ports it has but ASUS seems like it offers plenty enough for whatever you may want to do with it.

Thanks! The reason I'm considering the HP is because I'd sell the tablet, but I'm not sure what I could get for it.

I found some info about the SATA ports for the HP:
