So. . . Can this replace the one that Comcast gives you?
If Comcast gave you a separate modem and router, then yes, this could be used to replace their router. If they gave you a modem with a built-in router, then this can't replace it directly as it's just the router portion and you'd still need the modem. You could use their modem and then hook this up for the WiFi portion, but that's unnecessary unless you're trying to set up a very specific network layout or need some features that their router can't provide.
FWIW, I have this router and it's a reliable, easy to set up device. It's been working for us for several years now without a hitch.
