Looks like a solid deal, I mean it's a Haswell i7 ultrabook with an entry level dedicated graphics card. Weak link for most people here will be the 1366x768 screen resolution.

When I click the link it's showing up as $679 for me but coupon code RMNUSLENOVO3 that expires today takes $20 off making it $659. Did the price you saw of $659 include a coupon?

Btw, I posted this same deal but with the coupon in the following post in a different thread last night.

It seems from review that it gets heated very fast. Most of the buyers had to get a cooling mat for the laptop.

I just purchased this Z50 instead:
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/lapt...:00012127:

It's $20 more, and the differences are:
- 15" screen (which could be a positive or negative)
- 1920x1080 resolution (vs. 1366x768)
- 1 TB HDD (vs. 500 GB)

Seems like a no-brainer worth $20, as long as you're okay with 15".

Thanks. You're right that is a much better deal if you don't mind the extra size/weight.

I wonder how the battery life compares between the 2. The Z40 has a "4 Cell 41 Watt Hour Li-Cylindrical" battery and the Z50 has a "4 Cell 32 Watt Hour Lithium-Ion".

No backlight keyboards on the Z series right? Not a deal breaker tho. Ive been looking for a laptop to run some games on thanks for the deal!

Not a bad deal...but hard to decide between the Quad i7 or Dual i7. I don't do a lot of video re-encode but do it from time to time. Still debating if I can live with the Dual i7.

In for a Z50 with the coupon. 11 year-old destroyed wife's other laptop. Frown
