I bought these in March for roughly the same price and have been extremely pleased. The noise cancelling is pretty strong (I'd say about 70-80% of a Bose), the in-line volume control and detachable cord are quite convenient, and it's sturdy enough. There is still a flimsiness to the plastic construction, but substantially better than my last pair of Able Planets, which broke after about 1.5 years of moderately rough usage.

So you also have the Bose - What's model?

Is this a good price for these? I could use some decent noise canceling headphones for flying. Hate hearing the crying babies, the idiots that watch their movies without earbuds and the snorers. I hate mostly everyone on a planeSmilie

I don't have a Bose. I've tried them on about a dozen times, and my comparison is based on that.

Noise-cancelling headphones work best on low-frequency sounds, and not as well on high-frequency sounds like crying and voices. Sorry. Use earplugs or earplugs plus these.

Same here! I need a good noise canceling headphone too because dentalsalespro is in the same plane I'm flying and I hate him as well. Big Grin

Anyone know if these are any good? I have a $10 off Groupon so these would be $20 for me. How do they compare to say Monoprice 8323s?

I bought a pair earlier this year for the same price. I thought it was worth every penny especially since I've been flying every week for work. The noise canceling cuts out the loud droning noise and I arrive at the destination less tired than before. It also came with a great semi hard case. I'm in for another one for the significant other. Thank you OP!

The only complaint is that the audio cable only has volume control and can't change the tracks on my music device. But for under $33, I really can't be mad.

How did you compare the noise canceling to a Bose headset if you have never owned one?

I have tried Bose headphones a dozen times. I've also used them a handful of times when I've sat in first-class, and so had the opportunity to directly compare the noise cancelling to my owned headphones.

I bought some Able Planet noise canceling headphones a couple years ago from Groupon for $55 and they are still working great. Back then, I thought that was a steal, so $30 now seems like a great deal!

I bought these from Fry's in The Woodlands, TX. They had 100s of reconditioned for $25. bought then right before my 2 week vacation in Europe. They worked great to drown out the collection of tween Russian girls that were seated around me. Definitely worth $30.
