linky [neweggflash.com]

product features says - 100% Free LTE

Still not clear if it switches to Wimax after 1st month - But, from the FP forum comment here [freedompop.com]

it looks like it cannot be wimax since they cannot offere both wimax and LTE.

If it's 500MB LTE free every month, its a slick deal, IMO.

If not, would someone (@freedompop?) comment what the montly fee would be to get 500MB LTE every month? ( i pay 3.99/mo for 3g for my curent mifi)

The 803S device is a LTE hotspot. You'll get 500MB of 4G LTE data every month for free. You can also add the ability for 3G fallback (when you're not in a LTE area) for only $3.99 per month. This device does NOT connect to WiMax.

It follows the same data plan structure as our 3G/4G enabled devices:
-500MB 4G LTE only: Free
-500MB 4G LTE + 3G: $3.99/month
-2GB 4G LTE + 3G: $19.99/month
-4GB 4G LTE + 3G: $34.99/month

I have been waiting for a deal on these. The one FreedomPop sells is to expensive in my opinion. I tried the Wimax one with good luck. My concern is that Wimax will be shut down in the near future. This one is a bit more future proof.

The Overdrives are WiMax devices, not LTE like the device in this deal. While both WiMax and LTE will give you 4G speeds, Sprint's WiMax towers will be shut down some time in 2015.

Sweet. I will wait until this one gets cheaper, and eventually free.

$60 is too expensive to buy something I don't really need.

Good try, FreedomPop. Keep going.

@freedompop, so with more friends we add, the free LTE goes upto 1Gig (or is it more) per month?too, more MBs get into the bucket if I take up offers from your partners?

in other words is the policy on free LTE quota same as the one you have on your 3g mifi's??

Thanks

The Overdrive & Overdrive Pro are both WiMax devices. The 803S is a LTE hotspot. It's much faster and the LTE coverage area is rapidly expanding!

If you connect with 10 other FreedomPop users through Freedom Friends, then you'll earn an additional 500MB of Free data, on top of your 500MB plan every month. And you can earn more data by completing various offers.

So yes, the data policy is the exact same thing as our 4G WiMax/3G devices.

LTE has much greater coverage than WiMax. Plus, Sprint is rapidly expanding their LTE coverage in order to compete with Verizon & AT&T. You can check coverage by going to http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?. Be sure to click on the "Data" tab.

What are the differences between this and the Freedom Spot Mifi 500 LTE hotspot on the website?
Also - what is the battery life on this?
And lastly - can you activate on Freedompop an off contract/clean ESN Spring 803s LTE hotspot or Sprint Mifi 500 LTE purchased on eBay ?
