If you hate Apple, you can now get the Surface Pro 3, $150 off with new August .edu discount and 10% off with mover's coupon if you're able to stack them. YMMV.
Note: you cannot stack coupons when purchasing online.

The following are lists of models with prices after stacking both coupons:

i3/4GB/64GB for $584
i5/4GB/128GB for $764
i5/8GB/256GB for $1035
i7/8GB/256GB for $1260
i7/8GB/512GB for $1620

Tips from the other Best Buy .edu/mover's coupon threads include buying a second item so the cashier is less suspicious as the mover's coupon will automatically apply to the most expensive item or ordering online, applying a single coupon, then trying to apply the second coupon when in-store. Of course, YMMV.

Note: from the other Best Buy .edu discount threads, @californiacolleges does NOT work anymore.

Info about mover's coupon: you can get it online and it will do a temp. hold on your credit/debit for $1, or get it from any USPS location. There should be a stack of them where you get all the forms, if not, then ask someone there to give you a change of address form.

The movers coupon you could get online from usps.com or physically at the post office.

Bestbuy coupon if you haven't received it you can trigger it by going to the student page and simply enter your email address again.

Which model is the better deal, price/performance ratio?

Not stackable. The $150 off is not combineable with any other offers, the system removes the 10% when the student discount is applied

personally, i think the i5/8gb of ram model... but it's also $1000 with this deal, and i don't think any of these are worth 1k.

I feel like the i3 model shouldn't exist, and all of these should be one step down in price honestly. 64gb is barely enough considering how much free space you really have on a stock machine, and 4gb of ram on a system running full on windows in 2014 kind of sucks.

Are you sure? Have you tried it with a 2nd very cheap item just to have 2 items / 2 coupons? I know it worked before with other items ( ex apple products) why would it be any different now?

its priced close to or cheaper than similar tablets at launch. 64gb is plenty of space for a note-taking device, and is the model im getting along with a 128gb microsd. i'm speculating here but the i3 model should get better battery life and shouldn't throttle like the i5/i7 models.

the system removed it (online). why would I expect different in store? when using both online it applies the 10% to the second item

The 10% can only be used in store, it has never worked online, lol.
