Hey guys,

I didn't see this posted, so I thought I'd share.

SHELL SHOCKER DEAL: Price will be valid from 12:01 AM PT to 11:59 PM PT on Sunday, August 10th, 2014.
This SSD is also Premier & Shop Runner eligible.

NOTE: You may also save an additional 10% off your purchase (up to $20 off) if you pay using Visa Checkout and apply code: VCO. (More Details)

For an in-depth look at this SSD, go HERE [storagereview.com]. It uses the Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller as well as 128Gbit Micron 20nm ONFI MLC NAND.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I don't think with either one you could go wrong. With Visa Checkout, this is approximately ~$12 cheaper than the MX100 deal at TigerDirect. Both use Micron NAND and decent controllers.

Crucial MX100 = Micron 16nm 128Gbit MLC NAND
Corsair Force LX = Micron 20nm 128Gbit MLC NAND

Crucial MX100 = Marvell 88SS9189 controller
Corsair Force LX = Silicon Motion SM2246EN controller

Crucial MX100:
Sequential Read: 550MB/s
Sequential Write: 330MB/s
4KB Random Read: 85K IOPS
4KB Random Write: 70K IOPS

Corsair Force LX:
Sequential Read: Up to 560MB/s
Sequential Write: Up to 300MB/s
4KB Random Read: 76K IOPS
4KB Random Write: 70K IOPS

TD could be listing it wrong but in the specs for that Crucial drive they list...

Write Speed Up to 500 MB/sec
Read Speed up to 550 MB/sec

I was going off the AnandTech Review [anandtech.com].

Also, Crucial's own website [crucial.com] says:
550 MB/s Read / 300 MB/s Write

Looks like an inaccurate listing.

For many of the benchmark results MX100 beats the LX, but for this storagemark 2010 productivity disk capture [storagereview.com] test, MX is a tad lower than the LX, maybe the controller on the LX is better?

i wonder how would this compare to the other deal from tigerdirect for the same price but different brand? I think its sandisk but i could be wrong. (crucial is the ssd i mean). I know they make memory modules. Granted the TD deal is better because of the tax break for californians, otherwise egg it and call it a night
