Hi Guys, got an email from T-Mobile this morning talking about their combo of a money management app and a T-Mobile Visa Prepaid card.

http://www.t-mobile.com/landing/m...LT2R1K2222

We can try it and get $20 after a small opening deposit, Some features include;

$0 withdrawal fees at in-network ATMs§
$0 maintenance fees| |
$0 reload fee in T‑Mobile stores¶
$0 retail purchase fees**

Fine print says:

"A $20 min. deposit on the card may be required. Deposit must be made within 4 weeks of card receipt; credit will appear on account within 4 weeks of the initial successfully applied deposit."

You can also:

-Sign up for Direct Deposit and get a $20 credit
-With Direct Deposit you can get your paycheck faster than with traditional banks** and avoid annoyances like check-cashing fees and waiting in line. And, right now, you can get a $20 credit.**

Here’s how:

Complete two direct deposits of $100 or more within 75 days of activating your personalized card.
Receive your $20 credit to your T-Mobile Card within 15 days of successful completion of your second deposit.

From Their Website:

Say goodbye to high checking account fees! Mobile Money is a combination money management app and T‑Mobile® Visa Prepaid Card that lets you stay on top of your finances right from your phone. The freedom of Mobile Money allows you to pay $0 for the things you do every day.‡

Disclaimer ...Tmobile user but started not to like them since they tried to throw Blackberry under the bus few months back.

Competition is good.
damn! If it weren't for t-mobile, blackberry would have totally still had a chance... Smilie

why do they need your social security number if there is no credit check? who's brave enough to take a possible inquiry for $20 profit? not me...
lololol There's no credit inquiry dude, and this card service blows. You can't even link a bank account. Options for adding money are taking a photo of a check, cash at a t-mo store, moneygram... This shit is for people without a bank account what a joke. Makes AmEx Serve look like the best service ever.

Also if you choose to use the mobile check deposit to add your first $20 it takes 10 days, so by the time you get the bonus $20 they can hit you with the $5 monthly maintenance fee. Total scam.

That's a very good way to get blacklisted. Do that 3-4 times and Black Hawk networks WILL shut you down.
really? currently at about 28-30 times doing it and no problem...By your reasoning I should have been shut down 10 or more times...Big Grin

I called and asked about the length of time for the $20 promo. They said that it usually takes about 14 business days from when you deposited money into the account. They also said they are running a bit behind due to the high volume of recent sign-ups and it might take a few more days. When it is applied to the account, it will say "$20 Promo Load" under amount and description.

Given who they are trying to target, I'd say both

Just received my card. Sadly there's no way to deposit money into it online from my bank account, except by taking a picture of a check. Or I could walk into a T-Mobile store.

This is not a deal for non TMO Postpaid customers because of the monthly fee...

On 9/11, 2 days after I deposited $20 I received an added $15:

09/11/2014 Promotional Load Value Load $15.00

It is $5 shy of the $20 stated though.
