Hi all! I've never used my SYWP in store before. My question is re: bonus rewards. If I do go in store to buy this item, will I be guaranteed the same amount of rewards points as buying it online? Will I be able to use those in store SYW coupons without messing up the bonus rewards? Thanks!
Thx, iluvthebeach. I apologize for the hyperbole. Was typing fast before heading out to Kmart after work so I may have exaggerated a bit. As it turns out, 2 closest Kmarts, only one was on sale. Both had multiple units in stock. Here's how my experience played out.
Easy to find in the electronics department. I was able to apply a $10 back in rewards for $50+ purchase (printed up online). Kmart computer at electronics dept. automatically paid the entire amount in SYWP. Did not give an option to divide up payment formats, so no bonus points awarded. I had to head on over to customer service to fix. ***I must give mad props to the Kmart employee and manager who helped me out today. They were probably the best I've come across in any store in quite some time.*
Customer service processed a return for the item, told that it could take up to 72 hours for the points to show up again. Fortunately, I had just enough points left over to try again so we went for it. This time, the employee was able to divide up the payment into points and $0.01 cash. However, the coupon for $10 back in rewards did NOT ring up because it was marked as used from earlier. Receipt showed 50,000 bonus points awarded, no coupon points awarded. The manager had to manually adjust the 10,000 points into my account after the purchase.
So this was my first experience with using SYWP in store. A bit messy, but the end result was what I was hoping for.
Learned to let the rep know immediately that you want to divide up the payment between points and cash since once it hits the points, it processes it fully and you can't void or undo it. Save yourself some back and forth with CS. Also learned that the coupon applies.
Thanks OP and iluvthebeach. This is what I needed after my alarm clock failed me one too many times!

Why the ninja thumbs down?
Bad price? Please link us to the better price.
Bad product? Please tell us why and/or link us to the better product.
Bad seller? Please link us to a more reputable one with a comparable deal.
Please don't throw in a thumbs down without any additional insight or explanation. That won't help the rest of us looking for a good deal. Share your experiences with us. We're all on the same team here. Who knows...you might just earn some mad reps!

I'm surprised you would use the word "guaranteed" and "rewards points" in the same sentence, in connection with any SHC entity. No, no guarantees of anything. Their T&C assures that
However, to more directly answer your question, most times the same offer will be available for instore purchase as it is for onlne purchase, unless the bonus offer details state "online only".
Will I be able to use those in store SYW coupons without messing up the bonus rewards? Thanks!
Without knowing specific in-store coupons, hard to answer.
If you are referring the electronic coupons obtained from the various SHC sites, yes..if the coupon says it's good in-store, it should indeed work in-store as designed. As far as messing up the bonus rewards, all stipulations that apply to use of bonus points back and $$ off coupons online apply the same for in-store. If it messes it up online, it will mess it up in-store. If it doesn't mess it up online, it shouldn't mess it up in-store.
If you are referring to the paper printed coupons that are for instore and online purchase (such as those passed out to customers at KMart store liquidations), I can verify that the (3) $$ off coupons work just about flawlessly on about anything at KMart, and most things that they would normally work on at Sears.
Same interference problems to look out for as using any online coupon.
The $20 points back on $40, when used in store OR online should be used with caution and only when you really know what you're doing. You can quite easily throw the coupon away using it with a bonus offer, unless your total purchase subtotal meets or exceeds the combined amount of the Bonus Points back offer, plus the $20 Bonus points back.
