throw in a decent gpu and you sshould be good. although you may be limited if the PSU is less than 400 watts (which is generally the case with these kinds of desktops). also depends on what kind of games you are referring to

I just bought this to combine with this http://slickdeals.net/f/7096640-msi-geforce-gtx-750-ti-oc-2gb-gddr5-video-card-110-or-95-after-25-in-rebates-free-shipping

My specs as of tomorrow morning will be:
Intel Core i5-4460S
8GB DDR3
1TB Hard Drive
Nvidia GTX 750 Ti OC 2GB GDDR5
Super-Multi DVDRW Drive
HDMI Output
Windows 7

Total cost $530

How is that for a budget PC Tomshardware http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...,3854.html
Maybe 15% lower GPU performance but in 1 year we can use the savings and buy another $100 efficient card. And we have a better base since our CPU blows the AMD out of the water.

Eventually someone will ask, might as well be me. Any opinions on using this as an HTPC? I would be running Xbmc (now Kodi), Plex server and potentially add a TV tuner down the road.

Thanks in advance

It's massive overkill for a dedicated media center.

According to newegg the older model has a 300 watt power supply

The ones you linked to have a video card preinstalled so Asus will probably put in a bigger power supply

So what would be the perfect specs for a media center that can run 3D?
