How to setup a new Fire TV without blocking root:

How to root the Amazon Fire TV:
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-ro...n-fire-tv/

Use adbFire to adb shell, sideload apps, and other things:Amazon FireTV Utility App:

or

Be sure to enable ADB debugging on the Fire TV before using either of those adb tools.

XBMC Gotham 13.2 can be found here along with other tweaks:

I just side loaded Angry Birds and the Foscam camera viewer both work well. I tried Opera Mini and it kept crashing.

You can get the package for any application in the app store buy going to the Google app store https://play.google.com/store and finding the application then copying and pasting the URL into the box on this page and press generate. http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

Of course just because you can install it doesn't mean that it will work, you should proceed at your own risk so far I have side loaded 32 apps and only 7 did not work or crashed the system. Here is a List of Apps you can Sideload onto the Amazon Fire TV http://www.aftvnews.com/list-of-a...n-fire-tv/ But again you can install any application by side loading it, (Even if its not on the list) there is just no guarantee that it will work or that the formatting will be correct.

Only 5 of my 50 apps from the amazon app store synced with my Afire but thankfully Plex was one of them.

Here is a link for the Amazon Fire App, you will need it for XBMC and it is also a Great alternative to adbFire if its not allowing you to connect to your amazon fire. It will also root the fire for you and you can disable the autoupdate through the GUI and side load apps https://c0d7bae67ca616f62135b13d5...hfaFdtVTg/

Here is a link on how to install the Google Play store on the Amazon Fire However, I am not sure that this is really necessary because I have already posted how to side load any Google Play Store app http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-in...n-fire-tv/. In addition it takes up allot of room and you will find that it will tell you that 90% of the apps won't work with your device.

The article explains how trick the Google Play Store into thinking the Fire TV is a Nexus 7 tablet so that most apps in the Play Store can be installed on the Fire TV http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-tr...l-apps/But again if you going to do all this why not just save some space and side load it app via the method I have posted?

Shows $84 here and what perfect timing. I had a $30 off $80 coupon and Discover cashback to spend to buy staples egift cards at 20% off.

$84 - $30 + $4 tax - $11.60 (20%) = $46 shipped Smilie
