Hi Folks,

I did this last year and it works again. You can sign up for NHL Gamecenter [nhl.com] for $100. Regular price is $160.

The trick is to use a Non-North American IP Address. The NHL sells it to their international customers at a cheaper price. I use unblock-us.com. I'm sure there are others that work.

I paid last year with paypal, with all of my USA information. There are no restrictions after sign up, other than the normal blackout rules. Unblock-us will allow you to bypass all blackout rules, including playoffs.

Enjoy!

I'm just going to throw this out there, I have seen reports of $75 if you use Russian IP. I have not yet tried it.

Thanks for this. $100 puts it squarely in the "reasonable price" range. Unfortunate that you have to go through an alternate DNS. $5/mo for hockey season kind of puts us back to regular price, if that's all you're using it for.

I got an error trying to pay with PayPal, but my local credit card/address/phone# went through without issue...for now.

I was really thinking about doing HockeyStreams this year, I hated the [GCL] lag watching on my 360 but now I have an HTPC so the lag wouldn't be quite as much. But no blackouts is a big plus.

Good price, but horrible that they block all your local games.

Using the hola extension in Chrome I switched to a Russian I.P. and can confirm the price was one payment of $74.95.

If you just want to do it to sign up and save $60, the free trial is enough (and requires no payment info.)

But the $40 or so to have it all season is well worth it if your team plays a lot of national TV games. Plus it gives you access to the playoffs.
