Good discussion in this thread and here is the summary of just the Verizon options:

The Verizon Loyalty program is $60 for up to 2gb and unlimited text and talk. However, you cannot combine corporate discounts and THE HOTSPOT IS NOT INCLUDED (thanks abunasser). You can still have multiple lines on the same account number with the Loyalty plan.

I was initially told that changing to the Loyalty plan would not extend my contract but when I looked on the website, my contract was extended 1 year (YMMV). I called back and complained. The extended contract and lack of a hotspot were deal-breakers for me. I have two lines and was previously sharing 4gb with hotspot ability for $134.60. However, the current price for 2 lines with shared 3gb of data with hotspot is $110/month and you can add another gb for $10/month as needed if you call-in. Or it will be $15/month for the additional gb if you don't call-in first. I decided to go with the 2 lines, shared 3gb data, hotspot and just add the extra gb for $10/mo for a total of $120/month. That includes the hotspot and is the same price as two separate Loyalty plans except you share the data and have the hotspot.

Comparing single line pricing for an LG G3 on this plan with 3gb data versus Sprint Unlimited versus T-Mobile 3gb versus AT&T 4gb.

Thanks for the heads-up. Called Verizon and switched out my plan no problem. I had 2 lines on the same account that shared 4gb and I paid $134.60/mo. With this plan, each line is assigned a max of 2gb but everything else is the same and the total is $120/mo. Saves about $175/year...and both lines remained on the same account number.

Update: I cancelled the Loyalty plan. My contract was extended 1 year even when I was told it would not be and there is no hotspot on the Loyalty Plan (see wiki).

Can employer discounts be applied, even to plans like this?

Ditto. I've about to leave them in two months and save a lot of money.

Yes that benefits all. I have T-Mobile and glad they are helping to change the industry.

Isn't there something on verizon where after your 2-years is over you can drop your plan way down if you keep the same phones?

Good question. I get 20% off with my employer. This would be $50, which is real nice.

"Loyalty plan now available to all"

Nice, now if only there was a different word for something like that. Like, hmm, maybe a "thing-you-can-choose-to-buy", or an "ordinary-service-available-to-customers."

Maybe just call it a plan now? Nah, too simple.

For NYC, Verizon gets the best reception. You also get unlimited talk and texts. If you have a better/cheaper deal, then please post it.

If you live in a rural area or travel any, Verizon is king. If you live where T-Mobile's coverage is good (like myself), there's really nothing special about Verizon. T-Mobile's LTE speeds and reliability are on par or better compared to Verizon for me. Don't get me wrong, I do have an iPhone which is on Verizon prepaid that I always bring while traveling.
