I'm in San Diego near downtown. Switched from ATT to Tmobile about 2 months ago. Around here ATT definitely has better coverage. Sometimes I'll get dropped calls in my house. Strange because it varies from day to day. It's still very serviceable though. And for the amount of money I'm saving over ATT, I'm perfectly content. Another good thing is the LTE speed is just as good or better than ATT. Only negative is I find there customer service to be rather lacking. It's not terrible but it doesn't seem like they go out of their way to help you.
I talked to a representative today and received the following information:
1. You cant sign up until friday.
2. For a family plan, only the first/one line gets the unlimited, and only counts as a single referral for the referrer. The referral system only works for adding a new account, not adding a line to an existing account.
3. If the new account cancels, the promotion credit stops and you don't get any more unlimited data.
Am I allowed to privately message people my referral code on slickdeals?
I don't know. it'll be a loss for the guy who has unlimited grandfathered data plan, since he'll have to pay higher rate after one year.
why should current customer have to lower or change anything to get what new customer will get by default?
isn't tmobile SPECIFICALLY saying that they treat their old customers just as well (if not better) as new customers?
if it was AT&T or Verizon pulling this crap, there'd be a thousand tweets and dozens of blog posts pointing out the hypocrisy.
but tmobile somehow seems to be getting away with it.
in fact, tmobile would probably be among the first ones to jump on them if it was another carrier doing this.
so you are complaining because this promotion does not favor grandfathered plans and you conclude that t-mobile is therefore treating existing customer poorly. keep in mind the grandfathered plan, by definition, is a perk that only loyal customers can have. so t-mobile is offering existing customers either a. the same thing new customers get (free data, assuming you drop your paid unlimited data) or b. a further discount on an already discounted plan that only long-time customer have. how do you conclude this is unfair to, or poor treatment of, existing customers?
