Interesting option. Was debating on a SVS sub but this makes finding placement a little easier.

I want it, but just have a hard time paying more for a sub than I did my receiver.

Interesting dilemma. I would have thought sub would last much longer than a receiver, so that's one reason, why I would consider it.

The subwoofer is a way more important part of the sound system than the receiver. I paid twice the price of my receiver for my subwoofer.

How does this compare to an SVS or Hsu of equal price? I don't really need the wireless function so it doesn't really sway me one way or another

in for one. I am collecting subwoofers. I have an Outlaw, Bic F-12, Daytona 12, Bic Pl200 and now... welcome to the family...

If I could just figure out how to use them.

How is this better than buying a wireless transmitter for 50-60 bucks and a bic pl200 or something like that? Both hit down to the same levels. Is there something I'm missing? Even pairing this with a non wireless Velodyne sub with the same specs would be cheaper.

Am I missing something?

Place one at each corner of the house and set your stereo system to play mp3 file of dog barking sound as your house alarm siren. When motion alarm is triggered the whole house would "rumble" with crazily big dog barking sound and scare burglar away... Smilie

Just got done running a subwoofer cable down to the basement and back up into the family room due to sub placement limitations.
This would have fit the bill nicely. I want this.

That's a terrible compromise.

SVS or Hsu or Velodyne Q12, you can't go wrong IMHO. Velodyne has been making sub for al long time so they know what they're doing.
