amazon.com has the SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32GB flash drive [amazon.com] for $12.99. Yes, it's only USB 2.0, but speed isn't everything. This drive is very popular in instances where a low profile drive is more important than fast file transfer. I personally use them in the USB ports in our car stereos. In this case, USB 2.0 is more than sufficient (no USB 3.0 support anyway) and there is no need to worry that my 2 year old will get curious and snap the thing off since it only sticks out ~1/4" (6mm).

Please note, it will ship within 8-10 days.

If you don't have Prime, there's free 30-day trial with free 2-day shipping, video streaming & more available. This is a very small drive, so if maximum portability is what you're looking for this should fit the bill. This line of drives is very popular on Amazon.com, with an overall 4.5 out of 5 star rating based on over 5,000 reviews. - Corwin

does not have lanyard in package.
perfect option is http://www.amazon.com/Phone-Strap...B000SMXLYC
10 straps for $1.50 with free shipping

It is small, but you could loop the strap part through and then attach the metal ring to a key chain.

Had this drive for 8 months. Very excellent drive for fixed use (attached to a laptop, tablet, STB, etc.).

I had it attached to my keychain and the very tiny loop of metal failed. When you see the drive in person, you'll see why...the loop is thinner than a paperclip.

Not recommended at all for keychain use, but great for other applications that require a near-flush-mount USB drive.

Excellent for car stereo music, and for adding memory to Chromebooks. I also use one in my Macbook Air, but may upgrade to the USB 3.0 version.

The 64gb version is also on sale, for $27.06, which works out to just 2¢ more per GB for double the storage.

Usually ships within 8 - 10 business days.So choose no rush and get $1 back in amazon video credit.

For those who have Pogoplug running as NAS(like me). It's easier to backup if you have a Linux machine.I didn't want to install linux on my desktop or laptop so Chromebook was a perfect fit for this occasional thing considering you have Linux as dual boot on it.

Use one of these small flash drive and keep it attached permanently and use Chromebook as Linux machine whenever you want.
However for heavy use you may prefer a USB 3.0 cruzer.

I guess this is a prime price? Shows up as 16.89 when I pulled it up on my phone (no prime)... showed the 12.xx price on my laptop - logged in to my prime account.

The $12.99 price is shipped and sold by amazon.com direct. The $16.89 price is from a 3rd party but fulfilled by amazon.com. Only downside to the amazon.com price is the 8-10 day wait.

I bought one a few months back. Copied all my tunes to it and threw it in the Ford Flex. Microsoft Sync picked it right up. Works just like my old iPod did. You can't notice the drive in the usb port so it frees up space in the center console. I'm happy with the purchase.

I have a couple of these 16GB cruzer fit drives and they're awesome! So ridiculously small that you're almost afraid to lose 'em.

... that being said, they're USB 2.0. Usb 3.1 should be out soon so USB 2.0 drives should be long gone by now!
