are these "good" deals? Aren't mattress stores always discounting mattresses? I am in the market for one and I just want to make sure I don't ripped off with one of these sales. Also can you negotiate down from these prices? Will they make a deal?

It's $10 less than their 4th of July sale here: http://slickdeals.net/f/7040260-us-mattress-4th-of-july-sale-simmons-beautyrest-recharge-world-class-firm-luxury-firm-or-plush-queen-699-beautyrest-hypoallergenic-pillows-6-more-with-free-shipping?v=1

You can read some of the comments in the previous thread. I bought the Luxury Firm and I thought it was still a bit on the soft side, wish I had opted for the Firm one.

I guess it's on some mattresses as the one I've been watching for a month now (Lydia Manor luxury firm) has been and is $649. The Recharge Adda plush is $339 though SD though where if you just go straight to the site, it's $399. So click around and see what you might find.

Thinking I may bite and get a mattress from this sale. How was delivery and set up for you? How do you like the Simmons Beautyrest too?

Delivery was on time and setup was quick and easy (~10-15 mins) since I didn't any mattress to remove. It's been over a month now and I love so far but I wish I had purchased for the Firm one instead of the Luxury Firm.

Damn, mattresses are expensive, I had no idea. Are these supposed to be high end/better quality?

These are pretty good prices, I have been looking for a while. Really good when you consider most don't pay tax (e.g. California).

The mattress stores all have their special "brands" so comparison shopping is harder, but not impossible. For the Phillipsburg the key words are "Recharge World Class", and look for 1000 coil density. Simmons only has one category of mattress with this density, so if you see those words and that density you know it is the same mattress.

Here is the luxury firm on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Beautyrest-...orld+class

$800 for a Queen for the Luxury Firm. So this price is a bit over $100 cheaper.

What is the best place to try out some of the mattresses before buying?

I live in Houston, Texas and talked down Mattress One to $799 for a Queen Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Firm Mattress & BoxSpring. Apparently Friday 15 minutes to closing is the best time to go in because no one is around and the salesman are trying to get in their weekly quotas.

The reviews on this company scare me a little. I ordered a mattress a couple months ago and was getting cold feet after ordering, but they called and told me it was back ordered so I took the opportunity and cancelled it. I dunno, maybe it's just me.....

Before you buy a normal mattress, I suggest you try out latex. It has a 'push-back' quality that's not for everyone, but it's my ideal type of support. There are a few name brands that you can try out in a store (such as Englander) but I've had good luck ordering Talalay latex from foambymail. They're hypoallergenic and should last much longer than an inner spring. For full disclosure, I lump the big mattress companies in with cable providers, used car salesmen and Monster cable, so avoiding their products is an additional bonus.
