Sony Store offers the NEX 6 mirrorless camera for $399 with lens or $325 body only.

This is a great camera at a great price. While the a6000 is newer, many review sites still recommend the NEX 6 as a great option for entry level and experienced amateurs. here's one of such sites: Recommendation of the camera [bestmirrorlesscamerareviews.com]

If you have the EPP, you get 10% off. So, $360 with lens or $295 with body only. There is tax. Shipping is free.

Alpha NEX 6 with kit lens: http://store.sony.com/refurbished...al-Cameras

Body only: http://store.sony.com/refurbished...al-Cameras

These come with a 90 day warranty from Sony from order date. But you can purchase an extended 2 year warranty from Sony for 30 bucks (at the bottom of the page, look for Protection Plus. seems like a warranty similar to square trade, aka warranty is based on the purchasing price).

Price research: These hover around 400 bucks for USED condition on Ebay. Back in May, BB cleared them out, and some were able to get these for a stellar 260, but that clearance was based on regional stores and stock availability, so it was YMMV even though it was the best price.

Personally, I went with the one with the kit lens since the price difference, after the EPP, was about 65 bucks for an entry lvl lens.

Update

If you are buying this right now, wait for the drop down chat menu and start a chat with Sony. Ask about any promotions for buying this Refurb NEX 6. They'll offer you accessories worth 15% of the cost of the camera. This most likely amounts to a SD card and case.

***I just found out about this, you have to place the order through chat to get the free accessories (they give you a special code i think). So if you've already placed an order and it's been 1 hr since placing, then you can't cancel the order (<--THAT SUCKS). so the promo doesn't really qualify for those who already ordered. sucks i know... wish i had waited. But for everyone else pondering about the deal, definitely take advantage of the promo.

Case: Alpha NEX Camera Case
LCS-EMF/B
Memory Card: 32GB SDHC UHS-1 Memory Card
SF32UY/TQMN

Great price on a great camera, although personally I wish I had jumped on the a6000. However I am very happy with the quality especially at this price. It can do 99% of what a professional level dslr can do.

by the way,in your description you mentioned the nex6 is older than the nex7,which is incorrect.the nex6 came out about a year later.

got cha, i'm always getting confused about the release dates for the different models. i've only started looking for camera deals recently, trying to learn about photography a bit. From what i've read, this is a great camera that should be good for a few years while i learn the basics and become more experienced. i was on the lookout for the a6000 but haven't been able to find any recently, other than some used ones from ebay... buying from sony allows you to purchase the extended warranty for 2 years for 30 bucks, which isnt bad at all.

Nice deal on a great little camera with excellent EVF and decent AF. I bought and used it for about a week, but ended up selling it as I was comparing it to my NEX7 for motorsports photography. While the AF is slightly faster due to hybrid, I find that NEX7 still had less shutter-lag and the ability to crop more generously with 24MP vs 16MP made a difference for my need.

At this price, I think this is the cheapest APS-C camera with a good EVF (I had the a3000 too, but the EVF and LCD are poor resolution for beginners).

How does this compare with the NEX 3N which is about $360 NEW with lens?

i'd say the 6 probably runs circles around the 3N...

if you buy the extended warranty (30 bucks for 2 years), then it's basically new.

Biggest difference IMO is electronic viewfinder and hotshoe abilities. That, in addition to the added buttons and jogwheel functionality make this more of an enthusiast camera vs a beginners point/shoot.

Good deal! Still holding off on an A5100 or A6000 for the faster AF though.

i've been looking for the same deals, but what finally pushed me over was the price of the lenses. A6000 is definitely what i would want, but that alone with a kit lens averages around 700-750. since i definitely also want a zoom lens, like the 55 - 210mm, that will cost at least 200 bucks more, even for used ones. given that the nex 6 works great for the most part, getting it for sub 400 bucks allows me to invest more money into a quality zoom lens and camera bags, etc. sony lenses are not cheap, sadly

I see there is also a3000 for 281$ lesser with EPP.
Snapsort comparison shows a3000 better than Nex 6.
Size doesn't matter for me. Just Price and Picture. Which would you suggest of these?
