You are telling me that if I put mint leaves in the bottle and simply shake it, the mint flavor will propagate throughout all of the water in a few seconds? I just can't imagine this working very well. Will the flavor infuse? Yes, but I'm thinking it might take a long time for it to happen. Meaning your cold water is now room temperature. Yucky

I imagine it'll work faster if you smush the leaves a bit before putting it into the water to help release the mint's oils.

I don't have this particular bottle, but I do have one of the Basily infuser bottles and one of the "citrus zinger" bottles, got them both for free with Amazon code in exchange for a review. I prefer the citrus zinger bottle. You're right, the flavor does take a good while to really become noticeable in the infuser bottle. We went nuts the first day we had them, bought a ton of fruit, chopped it all into small enough pieces...took a sip...and didn't taste a thing, lol. But if you leave them in the fridge full of fruit & water, after a few hours, the water is quite yummy. I make a couple of bottles up before I go to bed at night, they are ready in the morning.
The zinger bottle, however, if you want lemon, lime, orange, etc. flavored water, that one becomes very flavorful almost immediately, because you are essentially just squeezing the fruit juice into the water. It's really good though, and much faster, easier and cleaner than the infuser bottle.
My $0.02, if anyone cares. :-)

Lots of complaints in the reviews that the citrus zinger leaks. Have you experienced this?

Tritan has been shown by a couple of private studies to be an endocrine disruptor, just like BPA, so this isn't really any better.
